The Collinwood Cobras, Inc. was established in 2018, Darnell Banks ( Coach Buck). Coach Buck, saw a need to create a youth organization dedicated to providing the youth leadership and development on and off the field. Starting with tackle football and cheerleading in the Cleveland Muny Football league. The Cobras have grown to offer Flag Football, Baseball, and Basketball. We are also offering a 12 -week afterschool program and family garden in 2024.
We are proud to partner with a variety of organizations and businesses to support our community. Our partnerships enable us to expand our reach and provide even more resources and services to those in need.
Throughout the year, we offer Flag football, tackle football, cheerleading, basketball and baseball. The Collinwood Cobras also offer a 12 week afterschool program and a 9 -week summer program that is dedicated to supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and academic development, reduce risky behaviors, while promoting physical health, and providing a safe and supportive environment for children ages 5 -14 years old.
Improving physical health and fitness, reducing the risks of chronic health problems, enjoying a healthier body image and greater self-esteem, Improving mind-body coordination, reducing the likelihood of risky behaviors are all known benefits of promoting a healthy lifestyle through physical activity.
Being immersed in a creative arts project encourages children to live in the present moment, which is important to mental health. And, in an increasingly digital world, arts programs provide an opportunity to spend time in the tactile and physical world - increasing mindfulness. The cheerleaders ( Lady Cobras) cheer at Muny games and a cheer competition at the end of the season where creativity and performing arts are center stage.
Social interaction activities help students develop their self-esteem, understand conflicts and improve their conflict-resolution skills, increase their problem-solving capacity skills, their intrapersonal skills and help them build long-lasting friendships.
Gardening engages kids' innate sense of curiosity and fosters feelings of connection to place/community, plants, animals, food, and their bodies. Gardening engages kids' innate sense of curiosity, wonder, and joy; this sets the stage for building positive associations with nature and fosters their feeling of connectedness to place/community, plants, animals, food, and their bodies.
Teamwork is a lifelong, learned skill and many camp activities support this by requiring kids to work together. While they are learning how to interact with others on the team, they are also learning that together they can get things accomplished. Children will value teamwork and get a sense of what it feels like to be a valued member of a team.
Dedicated to maximizing player enjoyment and skill development. while providing all players meaningful playing time and the opportunity for success. We are looking for Coaches and Volunteers!
Gardening gives children a sense of self-accomplishment. They learn by caring for their plants and watching them grow from seedlings to food or flowers. Children learn that their hard work pays off, boosting self-esteem. Those with positive self-esteem are more likely to try new things.
Come on out for a day of family fun! There will be food, music, face painting, vendors, games and more. Interested in becoming a vendor.
Our Mission
Our goal is to create competitive athletes that are not only superb on the competition floor, but also upstanding individuals in everyday life. We will create leaders and build self-confidence in every single one of our athletes. We are an “athlete first” program- we are committed to our athletes and their success. We hope that when the time comes for our athletes to graduate and move to a new phase in life, they take with them the kindness, integrity, character, work ethic, and self-confidence they have gained by being a part of the Lady Cobra family!
We believe in the power of community. That's why we're working to develop and strengthen communities with resources to affordable housing, economic development, and other initiatives.
Join us in making a difference. Whether you want to donate, volunteer, or simply learn more, there are many ways to get involved and support our work.
Thank you for all the Cobras who showed up to participate in the City of Euclid's annual Memorial Day Parade. It started out with a little rain, but that didn't stop you from celebrating our fallen heroes!
